Bellam Avakaya ( Mango Pickle with Jaggery Tempering )



Ingredients :
1. Mango (sour )          : 2 large
2. Mustard                   : 250 gms
3. Red chilly powder    : 250 gms
4. Salt                          : 150 gms
5. Turmeric                   : 1 tsp
6. Oil                            : 500 gms
7. Jaggery                    : 500 gms

Procedure :
1. Cut mango into medium sized pieces.
2. Ground mustard to a fine powder.
3. Smash jaggery to a fine powder.
4. Mix redchilly powder, salt, turmeric, mustard powder, jaggery, oil and mix well.
5. Add mango pieces to the mixed powders and mix well.
6. Now place this mango mixture under sun for 3 days.
Tastes well with dosa.
